Sr Pirates Sailing Off To Playoffs

The 2020 Cedarville Pirates football season has been anything but boring that’s for sure. For their final scheduled conference battle, the Cedarville Sr High Pirates hosted the Lincoln Wolves. The Wolves had already hung 264 points on previous opponents so the Pirates knew they would have their work cut out for them. And just like all season long, Cedarville gave everything they had full force for four quarters refusing to stop until they heard that final buzzer. But there can only be one winner and the Wolves walked away with the 48-30 win.

Although the pain of losing is felt, the Sr Pirates have no time to dwell in it because now they have a playoff game to focus on. Cedarville finished conference play with a 4-3 record and sit 7-3 on the season. QB, Cody Dickens, closed out the game against Lincoln with 6/14 passes for 87 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT. Hayden Morton earned 5 rushes for 107 yards and 1 TD. Kelin Mitchell ended with 3 rushes for 42 yards and 1 TD. Hayden Partain scored 9 rushes for 21 yards. Bruce Turney made 1 reception for 6 yards. Tommy Metcalf grabbed 4 receptions for 55 yards and 1 TD. And Darryl Kattich netted 1 reception for 26 yards and 20 carries for 172 yards and 1 TD.

Cedarville’s defense getting the job done

Max Washausen and Matt Chandler are the talented coaches duo who head the Pirates ship and on November 20, they will steer their boys 4 hours NE into Melbourne for the first round of playoffs. The Bearkatz hold a 7-2 season record with 306 points earned and 145 points given to their opponents. Cedarville has 402 points in their back pocket while their competitors walked away with 239.
