The popular Mark Twain saying “It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog” couldn’t ring any truer for the Magazine Sr High Rattlers basketball team. Two games into their season, the Rattlers have put up an incredible fight against both the Scranton Rockets and the Acorn Tigers. Although Magazine took a loss in each game with the most recent being 74-51 against Acorn, the Rattlers find themselves struggling with turnovers. “But once they get their basketball hands and legs back, we should be tough,” explained Head Coach, Buck Chappell.

With only 12 players on their roster, that’s more than enough to get the job done especially considering the talent that the team holds. A week from today, the Rattlers will open conference play against Lavaca. But before they step onto that platform, Magazine still has a few games left to get their feet wet. Tonight, December 10, the Rattlers will take on the Eagles at Union Christian Academy with games starting at 4 p.m. The Eagles currently sit 3-3 on their season and 1-0 in conference.

“I feel like we will do good tonight against Union Christian Academy. We had our fifth practice yesterday and things are starting to shape up. Turnovers have been our worse enemy and forcing some shots when we could take better ones is another factor. A game like tonight is what we need to get on the right track and begin working together as a team. I have a good feeling that we will do well and have a good night for the program.”
