Sr. High Head Basketball Coach, Keith Dake and Jr. High Head Basketball Coach, Kent Elmore hosted the first ever Basketball camp at Mansfield High School this week for 3rd – 6th grade boys.
“Any successful program starts with the fundamentals, then focuses on individual skills” stated Coach Dake.
The objective of the camp was to improve the athlete’s skill set and confidence with all aspects of basketball. This camp was the first of its kind at Mansfield, and with almost 20 boys in attendance, both Dake, and Elmore seemed to think that they’re onto something for growing the future of Tiger Basketball.
“At this point in this age group, we’re more concerned with their ability to be coached in proper essentials of good basketball skills, rather than conditioning” stated Coach Elmore.
