A Waldron native is returning home with plans to invest in the community and bring nearly a decade of insurance industry experience with him.
Lucas McCullough has announced his purchase of the Cassaundra Holmes Insurance Agency, located at 294 South Main Street in Waldron.
“Waldron is home, and I’ve been looking for a way back in where I can make an impact on the community,” McCullough said.
McCullough stated that he will keep the name of the insurance agency the same, at least for now, helping provide a smooth transition for existing customers.
McCullough brings nearly 10 years of insurance experience to the agency, including time working for some of the largest agencies in the country. He plans to use that experience to provide local customers with options tailored to their individual insurance needs.
The agency will offer coverage for homes, automobiles, boats, ATVs, personal property and umbrella policies, as well as life insurance.
For McCullough, however, selling policies is only part of the job. He said one of his primary goals is helping customers better understand their insurance and exactly what they are paying for.
“We all pay for insurance. The state mandates it on autos, and the bank requires it on homes,” McCullough said. “The truth is, most people I talk to have no idea what they’re paying for.”
McCullough noted that insurance policies can change over time, including rates, deductibles and available coverage. Some coverage that may have once been included in a policy can later require an additional endorsement, making it difficult for the average customer to keep up with the details.
That is where McCullough hopes a local, personal approach can make a difference.
“On the worst day of your life, I don’t want you worried about whether your house is going to be covered,” he said. “I’m in the business of peace of mind.”
The agency’s grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 8, 2026, at its current location, 294 South Main Street in Waldron.
Regular office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office can be reached at 479-637-2644.
