MMS Students Stun STEM Competition in Waldron!


Last Friday, two buses with over 70 students departed Mansfield Middle School headed towards a regional STEM competition in Waldron, Arkansas to compete in varying categories with over 1,000 competitors from 22 schools..
The Spring showers, and approaching thunderstorms didn’t dampen the competitive nature of the kids, and only slowed down the events being held outside.
MMS Science Teacher, and STEM director Kandis Howard stated “These kids worked very hard on their projects, and it showed. Being one of the smaller schools, we competed and won, in a big way. I couldn’t be more happier for them and their finish. I also want to thank the parents who helped to make this an amazing success for us, our kids, and the Mansfield School District. We couldn’t have done it without your help.”
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. They hold competitions in each state, with different age categories and has become quite popular with both schools, and their students.
